In Chortkiv, Ternopil region, two solar power stations have been launched to provide electricity to the local Central City Hospital. The project involved installing a total of 150 solar panels, awarded through the “Solar for Ukraine” competition.
This is the first project in Ukraine where women trained in the “Solar Power Plant Installer” program took part in installing municipal solar stations, marking a milestone in gender inclusion within the renewable energy sector.
The hospital’s equipment, including solar panels and inverters, was provided as a result of winning the “Sun for Ukraine” competition, organized by Greenpeace Ukraine in partnership with the German BIOHAUS-Stiftung foundation. The solar power systems are projected to reduce the hospital’s electricity expenses by over 400,000 UAH annually.
“We are proud to support Chortkiv — a city with a truly forward-looking mindset.”
