EDMONTON — Nathan MacKinnon contributed two goals and two assists as the Western Conference-leading Colorado Avalanche thoroughly defeated the Edmonton Oilers 9-1 on Saturday.
Colorado has earned points in six consecutive games. Connor McDavid scored for the Oilers, who fell to 6-6-4 and have lost three in a row.
Scott Wedgewood made 23 saves to secure the win for Colorado. Edmonton's Stuart Skinner allowed four goals on 13 shots before being replaced by Calvin Pickard, who stopped 17 shots.
