The Columbus Blue Jackets suffered their third consecutive loss Saturday night, falling 4-3 to the Vancouver Canucks despite Kirill Marchenko’s two-goal effort.
Columbus opened the night with a scoreless first period. The second period saw both teams score twice. Jake DeBrusk gave Vancouver an early 1-0 lead at 5:28, but Marchenko quickly tied the game just over a minute later.

Shortly after, Mathieu Olivier received a major penalty for boarding that gave Vancouver a five-minute power play. Despite their recent struggles, the Blue Jackets’ penalty kill successfully denied any goals during this stretch, swinging momentum back to Columbus.
Despite Marchenko’s efforts and Voronkov’s three-point contribution, the Blue Jackets could not hold the lead and lost 4-3. This marked the first time this season Columbus has lost three games in a row.
