Australian Olympic champion Ariarne Titmus has shared joyful news about her personal life soon after retiring from professional swimming at the age of 25.
The two-time Olympic gold medallist revealed that she has recently moved to Melbourne to live with her partner, investment analyst Mac Powell.
"It's just happened this week — new beginnings, a fresh start, a new chapter," Titmus said. "Mac and I are living together. It was hard to leave Queensland, but I have family in Melbourne and many friends here who have moved from Tasmania."
Titmus admitted she feels content with her decision to retire, enjoying a more relaxed pace of life that includes simple pleasures like cooking dinner and sharing wine with loved ones.
"It took me a while to make the decision... and I've definitely made the right one," she told News Corp.
She joked that one benefit of retirement is no longer having to wake up for early morning training sessions.
