Maple Leaf Pro Wrestling announced the passing of Brian Mackney, a revered alumnus and legend of Maple Leaf Wrestling in Toronto.
Known as "Silent" Brian Mackney, he won the hearts of Toronto fans during the 1970s and 1980s and gained international recognition competing in Japan with New Japan Pro Wrestling and All-Japan Pro Wrestling. He also performed in various NWA territories, including Mid-Atlantic.
When WWF took over Toronto, Mackney continued working locally for Vince McMahon for several years.
