Suzy Eddie Izzard Brings Shakespeare to Louth School Pupils

World-renowned actor, comedian, fundraiser, and campaigner Eddie Izzard — now known as Suzy — visited St Michael’s CofE Primary School in Louth on November 3. The visit was organized by the Creativity Academy, a Lincolnshire-based charity committed to inspiring creativity and confidence in young people.

Currently touring globally with her acclaimed solo production The Tragedy of Hamlet, Suzy Izzard met Key Stage 2 pupils and staff before performing selected scenes from the show, following successful sellout runs in London and on Broadway.

The one-hour visit featured a discussion between Izzard and Ben Keaton, multi award-winning actor, writer, director, and founder of the Creativity Academy. Their conversation covered topics including creativity, Shakespeare, and the life of a working artist. Izzard and Keaton first met while working in the London comedy circuit during the 1990s.

“Our aim has always been to give children direct access to outstanding creative minds — to show them that art, performance and ideas belong to everyone,” said Ben Keaton. He described the visit as “an unforgettable experience for the young people and a brilliant reminder of what’s possible when imagination meets courage.”

The Creativity Academy is a registered charity based in East Lindsey.
