Jay Som Announces New Album “Belong” Featuring Hayley Williams
Jay Som, the musical project of Melina Duterte, will release her upcoming album Belong on November 7. The multi-instrumentalist, songwriter, and producer collaborates with several artists, including Hayley Williams of Paramore, on the new record.
The Collaboration: “Past Lives”
Ahead of the album’s release, Jay Som unveiled the single “Past Lives,” featuring Hayley Williams. The two artists met in Nashville to write and record the track, joined by producer Steph Marziano. The song captures a feeling of emotional drift, finding momentum only to feel it slip away, with Williams’ delicate harmonies deepening its introspective tone.
“It’s a dream come true to have Hayley sing on my first feature on an album before the recording of ‘Float.’ I still can’t believe it happened. She’s one of the kindest artists out there and she graciously accepts and uplifts the people around her. We’re all so lucky to witness her talent and live on the same timeline as her.”

Belong also features contributions from Joao Gonzalez of Soft Glas, Mal Hauser of Mk.gee and Illuminati Hotties, Steph Marziano, and Kyle Pulley. For the first time, Jay Som invited several guest vocalists to join her on the album.
