The dense fog advisory covering Lauderdale, Colbert, Franklin, Lawrence, and Cullman counties is set to expire at 9 a.m., following an improvement in visibility across the region.
"Visibilities are improving for northwest Alabama and Cullman County, so we will allow the Advisory to expire at 9 a.m. Please remain cautious if you encounter any fog when driving this morning," states the National Weather Service.
A dense fog advisory indicates that widespread fog has developed, reducing visibility to a quarter-mile or less. Such conditions significantly increase travel hazards, demanding heightened awareness and patience on the road.
Fog conditions across northwest Alabama are improving, allowing for the advisory’s expiration, but drivers should continue to practice caution and follow safety guidelines when traveling.
