As the Malveaux era begins its second season on the Plains, several newcomers will don the Orange and Blue at Jane B. Moore Field for the first time. Over the fall, 13 new players joining the program will be introduced.

About Abby Herndon

Abby Herndon, a left-handed pitcher from Killen, Alabama, joins the Tigers after spending last season at Ole Miss. Although she did not compete in her first collegiate season, she boasts an impressive high school career as a three-time all-state honoree at Brooks High School.

Early Softball Beginnings

Q: How old were you when you first started to play softball?

Herndon: I was four when I started tee ball. I was around six when I actually started playing with a softball.

Influences and Inspirations

Q: Who has influenced your softball career the most?

Herndon: We would always be in the yard, hitting off the tee and practicing at a very young age.

Herndon: I got her book when I was 10 and read it. She was always a player I watched.
