Jennifer Lawrence revealed her belief in ghosts and described unsettling supernatural experiences during the filming of her 2022 movie Causeway. The Oscar-winning actress shared these stories on the Las Culturistas podcast with hosts Bowen Yang and Matt Rogers.
Lawrence referred to the hauntings she experienced in both New Orleans and Charlotte, North Carolina, as "really bad." During the Causeway shoot in New Orleans, she moved between several locations before settling in a hotel.
One day, while she was in bed at the hotel—she did not name the establishment—she heard a housekeeper enter her room. As she got up from under the covers, the housekeeper apologized for waking her and quietly left. Later, Lawrence realized the door had been deadbolted, which made the entry impossible.
"I don't know, I just come from a world where we believe women," Lawrence said, acknowledging she might have been half asleep during the experience.
Lawrence also described an incident at a local house where she was staying during filming. While watching TV alone, she noticed the kitchen doors repeatedly slamming open and shut without explanation.
Jennifer Lawrence shared firsthand accounts of eerie ghostly experiences while filming in New Orleans, affirming her belief in the supernatural with vivid personal stories.
