Aggro Crab and Landfall's popular co-op climbing game, Peak, is getting even more intriguing with its newest free update. The Roots update brings a fresh biome inspired by the forests of the Pacific Northwest, adding unique challenges and unexpected elements to the gameplay.
In The Roots update, players continue climbing, but now they scale trees within a dense forest environment. This shift presents fresh difficulties regardless of party size, with giant insects like enormous spiders actively hunting players. These spiders can ensnare climbers in webs and drop them, risking long falls.
The developers have released the full patch notes on Steam, where players can learn more about the new features and improvements.
"It's now possible to see effects on non-food items when placed in a fire, though none of the devs are saying what happens, which should encourage some experimentation."
"It's now possible to cook the poison out of berries, though not out of mushrooms, so be careful with those fungi out in the Roots."
Author's summary: Peak's Roots update refreshes the climbing adventure with a new forest biome, challenging creatures, and revamped cooking mechanics that invite players to experiment and adapt.
