A man recently seen inside a women’s locker room at a Los Angeles gym has a violent criminal past. Alexis Black, formerly known as Grant Freeman, made headlines after singer Tish Hyman reported his behavior at the Beverly Center Gold’s Gym.
According to Hyman, he allegedly exposed himself and harassed several women, including her. Following the incident, she posted on social media that her gym membership was revoked after the man was escorted out by police.
"#GoldsGym terminated my membership after the man was escorted out by police. Then had me escorted out by officers afterwards. I left but not before making sure everyone knew that they were allowing men in the locker room!" — Tish Hyman (@listen2tish), November 3, 2025
The New York Post reported that in 2022, Black pleaded guilty to violently assaulting his then-wife, Alexis Freeman. Court documents stated:
"Kyle Grant Freeman caused serious physical harm to the victim. The victim suffered a compound fractured mandible, which required surgery."
After the assault, he legally changed his name to Alexis Black, effectively taking his ex-wife’s first name. His criminal record also includes convictions for domestic violence, drug trafficking, and resisting arrest.
A repeat offender with a violent past, Alexis Black’s appearance in a women’s locker room has reignited public debate over safety and gender policy at gyms.
