BATON ROUGE — Glenn Clifton Jr., better known as rapper Young Bleed, has died at the age of 51 following a brain aneurysm, his family confirmed.
Fans remember Young Bleed for his hit single “How You Do Dat” and his collaborations with the legendary No Limit Records. On October 25, he performed at the Cash Money – No Limit Verzuz concert in Las Vegas. Later that evening, after celebrating with friends, he collapsed and was rushed to the hospital.
His mother, Florida Allen, shared that he suffered a brain aneurysm which led to cardiac arrest.
"Before they could get to him, he was out of oxygen for a while, and that's when they told us that he had no life in the brain," said Allen.
Young Bleed passed away on November 1, leaving behind his mother and five children.
"Nobody ever expected him to, you know, not come home; he's never not done that," said his son, Ty'Gee Clifton.
According to his family, Clifton had no major health problems other than high blood pressure. His mother expressed both grief and peace about his passing.
"I'm going to miss him, I'm not mad because he is gone, he left doing what he loved doing," Allen added.
Born and raised in Baton Rouge, Clifton began his rap career in 1995 as part of the local hip-hop group Concentration Camp before achieving solo success.
Young Bleed’s vibrant energy and loyalty to his music community left a lasting mark on Baton Rouge’s hip-hop culture.
