Erika Kirk became emotional while talking about her late husband, Charlie Kirk, during an interview on Fox News with Jesse Watters on November 5. She reflected on their relationship and his mission before his assassination on September 10.
Erika spoke about their early days together and how she supported Charlie as his career advanced, particularly with his involvement at Turning Point USA. Jesse showed Erika several video clips of Charlie during their conversation.
After watching one of the videos, Erika Kirk began to cry. She said,
“It is the longest video I’ve watched of him (since he passed). Just give me a second.”
She bowed her head and wept as Jesse gently told her, “Take your time.” The interview momentarily paused as Erika struggled to control her emotions.
Returning to the interview, Erika appeared more composed but remained teary-eyed. Jesse asked,
“Charlie was on a mission to save Western civilization. Did you know that's what you signed up for?”
Erika responded,
“No, I did not sign up for anything. I just married the love of my life.”
When asked about the day before the shooting, Erika said,
“He was at the office and we were going to meet for dinner beforehand with a dear friend of ours, who I wanted to just be with us and pray with us before the event.”
Erika Kirk’s heartfelt interview reveals the deep personal loss behind public tragedy and highlights her late husband’s dedication to his cause.
