Academy Players Prepare for Remembrance Sunday

In the lead-up to Remembrance Sunday, Wolves Academy players have been honoring the memory of those who served, particularly from the club's own history. Last Friday, the under-12 team planted a tree at Compton Park to remember Wolves players who fought in both World Wars.

The ceremony included vicar Anne Martin and featured the youngsters reading the names of the fallen, along with a poem expressing their reflections on Remembrance.

Week of Remembrance Activities

The tree planting was the culmination of a week filled with events:

These activities align with the Premier League’s annual Christmas Day truce initiative, helping young players connect with history during this significant period.

“It's really important that we're looking after them as potential players, but also nice, super rounded people. That's really important to us and the boys have worked really hard on this project.” – Natalie Deakin, Head of Education at Wolves Academy

This project reflects the Academy's dedication to nurturing both athletic talent and character.

Summary: Wolves Academy engages young players in meaningful Remembrance Sunday activities, blending historical education with community and character development.
