FBI Releases Nearly 500 Pages of O.J. Simpson Records

The FBI has published close to 500 pages of files related to O.J. Simpson following his death two months ago. The materials primarily concern the 1994 investigation into the murders of Nicole Brown Simpson and Ronald Goldman, in which Simpson was identified as a suspect.

Simpson consistently maintained his innocence and was acquitted in the widely publicized criminal trial. However, in a later civil case, he was found liable for the deaths and ordered to pay $33 million in damages to the victims’ families.

Focus of the FBI Documents

Most of the newly released records detail the FBI’s forensic work, including the analysis of fiber samples and other physical evidence gathered at the crime scene.

A significant portion of the pages is dedicated to the investigation into a pair of size 12 Bruno Magli shoes — a crucial element in the case.

An FBI expert testified that the shoe size matched bloody footprints found at the scene and that the prints were linked to the high-end Bruno Magli brand.

Although Simpson denied ever owning Bruno Magli shoes during the civil trial, photographic evidence later emerged showing him wearing that brand. The files include notes, photographs, and documentation of how agents attempted to trace any purchase connections by contacting numerous retailers.

Related Developments

The release of these records comes as a new Lifetime documentary is set to explore the life and legacy of Nicole Brown Simpson.
