Jimmy Butler Blasts Warriors After Loss to Short-Handed Pacers

Jimmy Butler Criticizes Warriors After Loss to Short-Handed Pacers

The Pacers, missing seven players on Saturday, stunned the Warriors with a 114-109 victory, marking their first win of the season. Jimmy Butler expressed his disappointment with his team's performance.

“We’ve got to get back to playing our roles to a T,” Butler told The Athletic. “Giving a damn whenever we turn it over. Giving a damn whenever our man scores. We guard as a team, we score as a team, everybody’s got to be on the same page. I think we’ve gotten away from that a little bit.”

Steve Kerr's Frustration

Warriors' coach Steve Kerr didn't hide his displeasure following the defeat.

“We know the West is loaded and it feels like we just gave away two games,” Kerr said. “If we are locked in and focused and playing the way we know we can, we should have won them. It’s the same thing the last three years — one or two games end up making a huge difference at the end of the season.”

Steph Curry's Struggles

Despite a strong start to the season, Steph Curry had his toughest shooting night of 2026. He scored 24 points but shot only 34.8% from the field and 25% from three-point range, while committing a game-high five turnovers.

“This is one of those games where you just look in the mirror,” Curry said.

Butler and Kerr’s comments highlight the Warriors’ need to refocus and improve teamwork to compete in the competitive Western Conference.
