The Fort Lewis College (FLC) men’s soccer team ended their regular season strong with a 6-0 victory over Adams State on Wednesday afternoon. Although Adams State is the lowest-ranked team in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC), this game carried additional significance for FLC after their recent 3-1 loss to Regis on Sunday.
Prior to the Regis match, FLC had hopes of securing a home game in the RMAC tournament by winning against Regis and Adams State. However, following the loss, their RMAC tournament berth depended on defeating Adams State and CSU Pueblo losing to the University of Colorado Colorado Springs (UCCS). Unfortunately, CSU Pueblo defeated UCCS decisively, eliminating FLC from the RMAC tournament and ending their season.
The FLC women’s soccer team secured a 3-0 home win against MSU Denver on Sunday. A victory over Western Colorado on Wednesday, which had a 2-12-4 record, would have earned the Skyhawks the No. 3 seed in the RMAC tournament.
However, a 0-0 draw against Western Colorado meant FLC settled for the No. 4 seed. Despite this, the team will host an RMAC tournament quarterfinal game on Sunday, giving fans a chance to support the home team.
"It was a season full of potential for the FLC men’s soccer team."
