Flint Boxer Claressa Shields Signs $8 Million Multi-Fight Contract

Claressa Shields, the undisputed heavyweight champion, has agreed to one of the highest-paying contracts in women's boxing history. Over recent years, Shields has been among the most dominant fighters globally, and now her earnings finally reflect that level of success.

On Thursday, Nov. 11, Shields revealed on CBS Mornings a new two-year, $8 million multi-fight deal, describing her excitement:

“I'm so excited to get it out, I've been keeping it a secret for like a week.”

According to Sportico, the contract is with Wynn Records and Salita Promotions. Shields most recently defended her undisputed heavyweight title with a unanimous decision victory over New Zealand’s Lani Daniels on July 26 at Little Caesars Arena in Detroit. This marked her second win in 2025, following another unanimous decision against Danielle Perkins in Flint in February.

A two-time Olympic gold medalist who calls herself the “Gwoat” (Greatest Woman of All Time), Shields acknowledged the progress of other women athletes in improving pay in their sports, while emphasizing her own achievement:

“I'm not the only one making money, but to get this deal done I feel like I'm getting my just due.”

She also expressed strong interest in defending her Olympic gold medals at the 2028 Los Angeles Games, despite current rules barring professional boxers from Olympic competition.
