Hilary Duff shared memories from her time on the Disney Channel hit, Lizzie McGuire, and discussed where her character and others ended up after the show during an appearance on the Therapuss podcast.
Appearing on November 5, 2025, Duff, 38, came on the podcast hosted by Jake Shane, 26, to promote her new song, “Mature.” Their chat quickly moved from music to nostalgia.
“I loved it. I had the best time,” Duff recalled about starring on the iconic series from 2001 to 2004.
She highlighted how Lizzie McGuire set records on Disney Channel, influencing the approach to future shows.
Duff explained that the network followed a strict episode and budget formula for their series:
“They just ordered a certain amount of episodes, and that was what they did for their shows. They spent this amount of money, they had this amount of order, and they stuck to that formula for all of those shows.”
She added that in one year, they might shoot about 30 episodes, and sometimes up to 35 episodes annually.
Regarding Lizzie and Gordo's relationship, Duff doesn’t believe they ended up together:
“I think they had maybe an almost thing post,” she said. “In my mind, I like to think she had a thing with Ethan Craft [Clayton Snyder], finally.”
She emphasized that Gordo remains a supportive figure for Lizzie:
“Gordo is always there to pick up her pieces still.”
Hilary Duff reminisces about her iconic Disney role, Disney’s production style, and shares fresh perspectives on Lizzie and Gordo’s relationship after the series.
