Peter Howitt, a professor emeritus of economics at Brown University, has been awarded the Nobel Prize in Economic Sciences.

He was awarded

"for the theory of sustained growth through creative destruction”
and joined the Brown faculty in 2000.

Howitt shares the prize with Joel Mokyr and Philippe Aghion.
