A pre-inquest hearing for Sam Diatta, a 39-year-old York man who died after a disturbance at a city jeweller's, is set to take place more than three years after his death.
Sam Diatta died at York Hospital on July 26, 2022, after being restrained at the Mappin & Webb jewellery store on Coney Street.
An inquest into his death was opened and adjourned on January 23, 2023, in Northallerton, where Coroner Jonathan Leach stated that Diatta died from hypertensive heart disease and the effects of being restrained.
He had died of hypertensive heart disease and the effects of being restrained.
