LeBron James remains sidelined for the Los Angeles Lakers due to a sciatica issue, marking four weeks since the injury was reported.
The Lakers officially ruled James out on Wednesday ahead of their home game against the San Antonio Spurs. The four-time NBA MVP has yet to appear this season after the Lakers announced on October 9 that he was dealing with sciatica. He was scheduled for a reevaluation in three to four weeks following that announcement, which aligns with the upcoming timeline on Thursday, November.
According to ESPN's Shams Charania, James will not join the Lakers for their upcoming five-game road trip. Following Wednesday's game, the Lakers are set to face the Atlanta Hawks on Saturday, November.
Sciatica results from irritation, compression, or pinching of the sciatic nerve, explains the Cleveland Clinic. This nerve starts in the lower spinal cord and extends down the back of each leg through the buttocks, thigh, and down to the foot. Pain can therefore occur anywhere along this path.

LeBron James continues to recover from his sciatica injury, with no return date confirmed yet, as he sits out the Lakers’ important upcoming games.
