More than 100 Calgary police officers and bylaw enforcers took to the downtown core on Wednesday as part of a large-scale safety operation. The initiative, known as Operation Order, focused on improving safety in high-priority areas through increased patrols and targeted enforcement.
According to the city’s statement, the goal was to strengthen public safety “through strategic patrols, focused enforcement, community outreach and referrals to support services.”
Officers from various units, including community safety and transit peace officers, carried out the enforcement. They worked in key downtown areas to address drug-related crimes, violence, and bylaw violations while also connecting individuals to local support resources.
