Miami Heat forward Bam Adebayo gave an update on the left foot injury he sustained during the team’s 122-112 loss to the Denver Nuggets. The setback occurred late in the first quarter, forcing Adebayo to leave the game early after logging only eight minutes, during which he posted two points and one rebound on 1-of-5 shooting.
“I felt a pain in my foot, so I took it upon myself to check myself out and see what happened. We’ll get more tests tomorrow and see how it goes,” Adebayo said after the game.
The loss of Adebayo exposed Miami’s thin frontcourt depth. With him sidelined, rookie Kel’el Ware was the only true center available, while Keshad Johnson and Nikola Jovic provided limited support. Former rotation player Precious Achiuwa now plays for the Sacramento Kings, and Vlad Goldin remains in the G League.
Without their defensive anchor, the Heat could not withstand Denver’s size and power inside. Nikola Jokic delivered a commanding performance, recording 33 points, 15 rebounds, and 16 assists in 37 minutes while shooting 12-of-18 from the floor and 2-of-5 from beyond the arc.
The Nuggets dominated the boards, outrebounding the Heat 61-38, including 21 offensive rebounds that resulted in 22 second-chance points. Miami managed only 44 points in the paint, underscoring their struggle without Adebayo.
Adebayo’s early exit with a foot injury left Miami exposed inside, as Jokic and Denver controlled the boards and powered to a comfortable 122-112 win.
