The Los Angeles Lakers continue their winning momentum, edging out the San Antonio Spurs for a fifth consecutive victory. Despite frequent lineup changes, their results remain consistent.
With less than three minutes left and San Antonio up 112–110, Lakers guard Luka Dončić executed a screen play with DeAndre Ayton at midcourt. Victor Wembanyama positioned himself under the free-throw line as Dončić maneuvered around defender Stephon Castle. Ayton rolled to the paint, drawing Wembanyama in, while Dončić stepped back just beyond the arc for a crucial shot.
That three-pointer marked the final lead change in a night where San Antonio once led 94–82 late in the third quarter.
Although Dončić missed 18 of his 27 field goal attempts, he still topped all scorers with 35 points, along with 13 assists and five steals. His performance led Los Angeles to a narrow 118–116 win.
In the closing seconds, the Spurs’ Marcus Smart committed an inbound violation with 1.2 seconds on the clock, followed by Jake LaRavia’s foul on Julian Champagnie, sealing Los Angeles’ win.
Dončić’s 35-point performance and clutch shooting propelled the Lakers past the Spurs in a physical, foul-heavy thriller that reaffirmed Los Angeles’ winning rhythm.
