Coalition Accuses Government of Shutting Down Transparency
The Opposition, along with the Greens and independent members of Parliament, is urging the government to make public a long-awaited report on appointments to public boards.
The document, informally known as the "jobs for mates" report, was expected to be released in 2023. However, authorities now say it remains under cabinet review.
“The government continues to withhold the report, citing cabinet consideration,” said Shadow Minister for Industry and Innovation, Alex Hawke.
Mr. Hawke himself faces challenges to his pre-selection within the Coalition, further intensifying the political tension around this issue.
