A serious multi-vehicle accident occurred on eastbound Highway 4 near Contra Loma Boulevard in Antioch on the morning of November 4, 2025. The crash involved an overturned big rig truck and a black Honda Accord, according to the California Highway Patrol (CHP).
The collision happened around 8:08 a.m. and caused several lanes to close, resulting in significant traffic congestion. CHP reported that the big rig tipped onto its side, scattering debris across the roadway. Only the far-right lane initially remained open, prompting a SigAlert for the area.
Emergency crews transported at least one person to nearby hospitals, including John Muir and Kaiser facilities. The extent of the injuries has not yet been confirmed. Heavy-duty tow trucks were requested to clear the overturned semi and other damaged vehicles, a process expected to take several hours.
“The incident remains under investigation,” CHP stated, advising motorists to avoid eastbound State Route 4 or use alternate routes until the highway is fully reopened.
