Robert Irwin and professional dancer Witney Carson reflected on their performance during “Dancing with the Stars” Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Night, where they danced a passionate paso doble inspired by The White Stripes.
“This week, by far the hardest week. It felt like just one big trust fall,” Robert shared. “There was even a move where I had to jump and land in a split stance on Witney — a few close calls there, but we just trust each other completely.”
Robert emphasized that mutual confidence and enthusiasm carried them through what he called their toughest rehearsal period yet.
“I'm so proud of everything we did this week,” Witney said. “It was a really hard week with so much technique and shaping… I threw a lot at him, and the fact that we’re here with two 10s is just incredible.”
She expressed admiration for Robert’s progress and dedication, noting that his focus had evolved remarkably over the season.
“I think the stern Witney this week did really well,” Carson joked. “So I’m going to keep going with that — maybe even a little harder.”
“Witney’s mother voice has come out,” Irwin laughed. “I’ll be goofing around and she’ll say, ‘Point your toes,’ and I’m like, ‘Yes, ma’am.’”
The pair’s good-natured humor highlighted the balance of discipline and fun that fuels their partnership.
“The energy was at a new high,” Robert said about guest judge Flava Flav’s presence during the show.
The duo agreed that his lively spirit added an exciting spark to the evening’s performances.
