The Sacramento Kings begin a five-game homestand against the Golden State Warriors on Wednesday at Golden 1 Center. However, they might be without several key players, as three potential starters face uncertainty heading into the matchup.
Zach LaVine and Domantas Sabonis are both questionable due to injuries, while Keegan Murray continues his recovery from thumb surgery. If LaVine and Sabonis are unable to play, head coach Doug Christie will face some important lineup decisions.
The Warriors will also miss a key player. Steph Curry, who played through a cold during Tuesday’s win against the Phoenix Suns, is expected to rest for the game in Sacramento. After consulting with medical staff, coach Steve Kerr made the call to sideline his star guard.
“He’s wiped out right now, so I don’t care what the doctors say. We’ve got to get him some rest, so I’ll make the decision right now. He’s not going to play,” said Steve Kerr to Bay Area media.
Malik Monk will return to the Kings’ lineup after missing two games due to personal reasons. The Kings recently pulled off a thrilling 135–133 win over the Milwaukee Bucks but closed their road trip with a 130–124 loss to the Denver Nuggets.
The Kings face lineup challenges as key starters remain uncertain, while the Warriors rest Curry for recovery during a critical early-season clash in Sacramento.
