Warriors Injury Update: Jimmy Butler Out vs. Kings

The Golden State Warriors received a key injury update before their Wednesday night matchup against the Sacramento Kings.

Without Stephen Curry, who was ruled out due to illness, the Warriors are facing an uphill battle. The loss of their 37-year-old guard significantly weakens their lineup against a Sacramento team also missing two of its stars, Zach LaVine and Domantas Sabonis, both sidelined with injuries.

According to ESPN’s Anthony Slater, Jimmy Butler will not play in the game due to a lower back strain.

“Jimmy Butler has been ruled out tonight with that lower back strain,” Slater reported on Wednesday evening. “Downgraded from questionable.”

Butler had hoped to play through the injury, but the medical staff did not clear him for action. Even with Sacramento missing LaVine and Sabonis, Golden State will have a challenging night ahead.

DeMar DeRozan, the Kings’ six-time All-Star, remains a major threat. In his 17th NBA season, the 36-year-old continues to produce efficiently, averaging 20.4 points, 4.1 rebounds, 4.1 assists, and 1.1 steals on 50% shooting through seven games.

Author’s Summary

The Warriors will face the Kings without Stephen Curry and Jimmy Butler, increasing their challenge even as the Kings miss key players LaVine and Sabonis.
