MassDOT plans new bidding process for service plaza contract

The Department of Transportation will rebid the service plaza contract that led to a public fight between Applegreen and Global Partners.

Highway Administrator Jonathan Gulliver announced that his Highway Division will take over day-to-day management of the service plazas.

A protest was held outside the Statehouse in July by Highway Employees and supporters of Global Services, a Waltham company that lost the bid to renovate and operate Massachusetts Turnpike service plazas.

MassDOT will rebid the project
