The Pitt men’s basketball team secured a 74-59 victory over Youngstown State Monday night at the Petersen Events Center, marking their fourth consecutive season-opening win. The Panthers used a decisive 14-3 run to close out the first half and maintained the lead for the remainder of the game.
Youngstown State initially held a lead during the early minutes, but Pitt claimed their first advantage at 20-19 with a three-point play by Cameron Corhen. Despite a quick 6-0 run by Youngstown State, Pitt increased their defensive pressure and eventually took control.

In the second half, Pitt expanded their lead to double digits. Although Youngstown State briefly cut the deficit to 54-50 with a six-point run, the Panthers maintained control and secured the win.
