A Calgary man, Randall Arsenault, 58, faces charges following a Cochrane RCMP investigation linked to a suspected overdose death earlier this month in the Mînî Thnî area of the Stoney Nakoda Nations.
The investigation began in early October after Cochrane RCMP responded to a suspected overdose death in Mînî Thnî.
The Crime Reduction Unit (CRU) of Cochrane RCMP, along with the Calgary Police Service’s Gang Suppression Team, worked together to identify the source of the drugs involved.
This joint effort led to Arsenault's arrest in Calgary.
"Randall Arsenault has been charged with trafficking a controlled substance and possession for the purpose of trafficking under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act."
During the arrest, officers confiscated a substantial quantity of fentanyl and methamphetamine.
