Several postcodes across Sussex were among the lucky winners in the People’s Postcode Lottery during October. Residents from different streets across the county celebrated their good fortune after their postcodes were drawn in the monthly competition.
The People’s Postcode Lottery is a subscription-based lottery designed to raise funds for charities while offering cash rewards to participants across the UK. Every weekday, 20 different postcodes win £1,000 each. On Saturdays, players compete for a share of £1 million, and on Sundays, each winner can claim £30,000.
According to the organizer’s official website:
“Every month, players in a postcode sector share £3.2 million or more. In this example, £1.6 million of this will be shared equally by tickets playing with the winning postcode, with the other £1.6 million being shared equally by tickets playing with the winning postcode sector.”
Draws were held daily from October 4, revealing a number of prize-winning addresses across Sussex. Many households are now celebrating newfound windfalls thanks to their participation in the lottery.
Each month’s total prize pool is split between ticket holders within the winning postcode and those in the broader postcode sector, ensuring multiple winners and larger community participation.
