Prince Harry denies claims he tried to upstage Prince William
Prince Harry has dismissed claims that he intentionally tried to draw attention away from his brother, Prince William, by announcing his own visit to Canada just as the Prince of Wales arrived in Brazil for his Earthshot Prize tour.
The overlap in their schedules was called “predictable” by a royal expert, but Harry’s spokesperson firmly denied any suggestion of rivalry between the brothers.
“The timing is due to the fact that the Duke of Sussex is not afforded the same level of security and protection as other working members of the Royal Family,” the spokesman explained.
“Therefore, the window in which we can release event details is much shorter than it is for His Majesty the King or the Prince of Wales.”
Prince William began his five-day visit to Rio de Janeiro on Monday, marking the fifth anniversary of his environmental initiative, The Earthshot Prize. Meanwhile, Prince Harry’s team in California confirmed his upcoming trip to Canada, set to take place in the week leading up to Remembrance Sunday.
